Pragmatics refers to how we use language to communicate in a variety of situations, such as social scenarios. A child may benefit from pragmatics language therapy if he/she has difficulty:
- Taking turns in conversation
- Making and keeping friends
- Adhering to social rules such as personal space
- Understanding abstract or figurative language
- Recognizing and/or regulating different emotions
- Understanding others' perspectives
- Solving social conflicts
